What makes you different from other Pilates Teachers?
I am certified as a mat work and reformer teacher with Body Control Pilates, which is one of Europe’s foremost Pilates organisations, based in London, UK.

Also, my Degree in Biokinetics enables me to really identify and understand the problems in people’s bodies, especially if they have faulty movement patterns.

My experience and knowledge have garnered me a huge repertoire of appropriate exercises to choose from, to help you reach your goals.

What makes you different from other Personal Trainers?
As a Biokineticist I am expert in prescribing appropriate and holistic exercise programmes that are individually designed to assist you as a treatment to

  • prevent injures,
  • maintain good physical ability and
  • Assist in final phase rehabilitation after injury or surgery.

All with the aim to get you to achieve functional movement.

What makes you different from a physiotherapist?
My degree in Biokientics is recognised and registered with the Healthcare Professionals Council of South Africa, which is where I come from.

I am associated with the third phase of soft issue injuries, the 1st being orthopaedic surgeons, the 2nd physiotherapists and 3rd Biokineticists.

My job is to work closely with physiotherapists and orthopaedic surgeons to ensure that, once the patient is no longer in pain and inflammation has decreased, the patient is provided with appropriate holistic exercise programmes to improve core strength, range of motion, strength, flexibility, balance, posture and proprioception (unconscious body awareness), ranging from basic to challenging, depending on the client’s needs. My job is to get the patient’s body back to strength for the demands daily living as quickly as possible. With me, you will gain an understanding of how your body works, and the exercises you will learn to make it strong will be with you for life.

Can I use the reformer if I’ve never done Pilates before?
Yes, of course. I will go through the basic concepts of what Pilates is and how it will affect your movements when exercising.
How can I practice the reformer exercises if I don’t have a machine?
Most of the exercises done on the reformer can be related to mat work Pilates, general exercise or daily-living activities. I will tell you all about that.
Will I learn mat work Pilates?
Absolutely, yes!
I know I am interested, but I have some questions: may I contact you?
Of course! There is no such thing as a bad question. I will do anything I can to help you.
How much does it cost?

There are different packages, designed to help you get the results you want. I am happy to discuss this further with you at the session.

What type of person do I need to be to make this work?
You just need to be willing to learn and willing to commit to starting your journey. You have nothing to lose and everything to learn. Embrace the changes and you really can’t fail.
